Licence, insurance and payments
The paperwork, in the open. If a tour operator cannot show you this, ask why.
Licensing
JoyoTour Thailand Co., Ltd. is a licensed tour operator with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, licence number 11/05432. You can verify it on the TAT register at tourismthailand.org.
We are a member of ATTA (Association of Thai Travel Agents) and PATA.
Insurance
We carry public liability and professional indemnity cover through Thai Reinsurance, with a limit of THB 50 million. This covers our operations, not your personal travel — you still need your own travel insurance.
All vehicles are insured and all guides are covered for medical costs.
Payments and cancellation
A 20% deposit confirms the booking; the balance is due 30 days before arrival. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex and bank transfer. Card payments are processed through a PCI-compliant gateway.
Free changes up to 45 days before arrival. Cancellation terms vary by hotel and season and are written on every quote — not buried in the terms.
What the numbers mean
The TAT licence number 11/05432 identifies us as a registered tour operator with the Tourism Authority of Thailand. It can be checked on the TAT website, and it is the first thing to verify with any company selling Thailand tours — an unlicensed operator is not insured for your trip and has no bond behind it.
The insurance figure — THB 50 million through Thai Re — is the operator's liability cover, not your travel insurance. It covers injury or loss caused by our negligence during the trip. It does not cover your medical costs, cancellation or luggage, which is why we ask every traveller to hold their own policy.
Deposits and refunds, precisely
20% deposit on confirmation, balance due 30 days before arrival. Changes are free up to 45 days out; between 45 and 30 days we charge any non-refundable hotel deposits, which are itemised in your quote. Inside 30 days, cancellation terms follow the hotels, and we pass on exactly what they charge us with no administrative fee.
Refunds are paid within 14 days to the original payment method. If a trip is cancelled by us — which has happened twice in seventeen years, both times for political unrest in Bangkok — you get a full refund or a rebooking at the same price, your choice, and we do not invoke force majeure to keep the deposit.
