Thailand Family Tours
Shorter drives, pools at the end of the day, and guides who are good with children rather than merely available.
A family trip to Thailand works from about age four, and the constraints are specific: heat, transfers and long temple days. Every itinerary here is built to remove those three rather than to add activities.
In practice that means a private car and driver (from $80 a day), no more than three bases, a pool at every hotel, and one cultural stop per stop instead of three. It means Erawan Falls' lower tiers, where a six-year-old can stand, rather than the summit trail. It means the elephants at 9am and the pool at 2pm.
Thailand is also easier on parents than most long-haul destinations: pharmacies everywhere, private hospitals with paediatric emergency departments in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Samui, and a culture that genuinely likes children. The food is mild if you ask for it, the fruit is everywhere, and nobody minds a noisy table.
