15+ day Thailand tours
Two weeks plus lets you add the rainforest, a second coast or the far north without turning the trip into a relay.
Fifteen days and beyond is where Thailand becomes a trip rather than a holiday. There is enough time to include the things most itineraries skip: Khao Sok's lake, the Mae Hong Son loop, a liveaboard in the Similans, or a slow week on Koh Lanta.
The right structure at this length is four or five sections rather than eight destinations. Our 21-day Grand Tour runs Bangkok, the old capitals, the north, the lake and the Andaman — five sections of three to five days each, with four internal flights and no ground transfer over four hours.
Long trips also need slack. Every itinerary here includes days with nothing in them, because on a three-week trip something always goes wrong — a cancelled boat, a stomach bug, a festival you want to stay for — and a schedule with no gaps turns one bad day into a bad week.
Common questions
Not with this structure. It is too long if you are repeating the same kind of place.
Yes. Laos via the Chiang Khong crossing and Cambodia via Aranyaprathet both work as a week-long extension.
Long trips work well in the green season — cheaper, quieter and greener, with afternoon rain rather than all-day rain.
Need a different length?
Every itinerary can be shortened or extended by a day or two — usually without changing the route.
