What will your Thailand trip cost?
An estimate in ten seconds, built from the prices we actually quote. It is a range, not a quote — five variables move it, and we show you all five.
What the number does not include
Why the range is wide
The same twelve days in Thailand can cost $1,200 or $6,000 per person, and neither is a mistake. Six things move the number: hotel tier, the season you travel, how many people share the vehicle, how much guiding you want, whether you move between regions, and whether you eat at hotels or at the market.
The biggest single lever is not hotels — it is the number of people sharing a car and guide. A private guide and vehicle costs about $80–120 a day regardless of whether two or six people are in it, so a family of four pays roughly half per person what a couple pays for the same guiding.
How to spend the money well
Put the budget into a driver before a room category. A car and driver in Thailand costs $80–120 a day and removes the two things that make travel days tiring; a higher room tier mostly buys a better bathroom.
Second, travel in the green season if your dates are flexible. May to October is 20–30% cheaper on the same itinerary, with rain that usually lasts ninety minutes in the afternoon rather than all day.
Third, spend on one thing properly. A private longtail at 6:30am, a guide who can explain a temple, or a cooking class with a market visit — these are what people remember, and none of them is expensive by international standards.
